I had a conversation with a friend a few days ago. He was retelling a story from a past victory that he had experienced. A victory that had long since past. As he spoke I felt his soul grasping for the need for validation. It was as if at that point in his past everything stopped. His life was the sum total of that one victory from years ago. I tried to encourage him to get back into the game of life. I’m still not sure how well he received my little exhortation. I pray that something that I said connected with him, somewhere deep down inside and that will lead to a response of action. That’s my prayer anyway.
On the way home from our conversation I began thinking about how I live my own life. Am I living in a way that embraces the challenges of the future or am I sitting in my easy chair gazing upon the rusty swords of battles gone by? Maybe that’s a good question for all of us. How are you living your life? Is there a story of epic proportions being written by you today? Are you living an adventure?
I want to be living in a way that rises to the challenges that I face. Even more so, I want to be a risk taker. I want to live dangerously, taking risks rather than always looking for the safe way thru things. LIfe should be fun, challenging and risky. Safe lives are boring. Safe lives don’t leave exciting stories. Safe lives stare at rusty swords…
So how are you living your life? What is the challenge that you are rising to currently?
God calls us to a life of Boldness and Courage threw him, boring just seems like there is a waste. Almost like your losing out on promises or robing your self of lessons that you might need to learn for later.
Boring to me sounds like stale and stagnate and I hope I never come to a full stand still in life, where I’m only looking back. I think everyone has a need for excitement , newness, challenge and to just step out of there box : )
This is a really cool message to hear from one of the ones to really chew over
Wow that hits home!
